I wonder what a big cod is like. :-) Small (full box) cod (delicate) and medium (pile) chips = dinner for two.. my first fish and chips and I love it..

The best fish and chip restaurant in East Sussex. Always great full portions and really fresh. Would recommend the restaurant and the great service received.

The fish was awful
We chose Trawlers for lunch expecting something really good based on the reviews. First impressions looked good full of local people, mostly pensioners, like ourselves, and a good atmosphere, Indeed I had no complaints at all about the place (other than the fact that the tables were shoehorned in to get as many as possible into the smallest space). The service was good, the staff seemed fine and I could not complain about the chips.
But the fish and that's the most important part! We ordered plaice. The first taste was good; but as it went on it became less tasteful and more oily. The fish was not very white, but it was spoilt by the batter, which was too much, hard and even sickening. When we left I had the taste of the batter lingering in my mouth for hours, and my wife found it repeating right through the evening.Nobody asked if everything was all right! -
